A woman identified as Jane Doe 4 has joined an ongoing lawsuit against Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI, accusing her stepfather of using the company’s Grok chatbot to transform a childhood photograph into thousands of explicit images.
According to a report from The Washington Post, the woman alleges that her stepfather manipulated a photo taken when she was 11 years old, generating more than 7,000 explicit images of her. The images were uncovered during a law enforcement raid, and two days later, the stepfather was found dead of suicide.
The lawsuit was originally filed by three Tennessee teenagers against xAI, claiming that the company’s Grok chatbot played a role in creating child sexual abuse material. Jane Doe 4 has now joined that legal action, adding her own allegations to the case.
The Washington Post report did not specify where the raid took place or provide additional details about the stepfather’s death. xAI has not publicly responded to the specific allegations in the report.
The inclusion of Jane Doe 4 in the lawsuit broadens the scope of the legal challenge against xAI, which now involves multiple plaintiffs alleging that Grok was used to produce abusive imagery. The case continues to draw attention to the potential misuse of AI-powered tools.
